How much fabric for a cushion cover?
For a standard cushion roughly twice the cushion width plus seam allowances and overlap. An envelope closure needs more fabric than a zip, but saves installing one.
Does it fade by the window?
Every fabric loses colour by a window over years; dark tones more visibly than pale. To avoid it, choose lighter colours or a lining behind the curtain.
Can I use it outdoors?
Only partly. Uncoated decor fabric takes up water and fades in the sun. For outdoor seat pads a coated fabric or an outdoor cloth is the right choice.
How does decor fabric differ from dress fabric?
In weight and density. Decor fabric is woven heavier so it holds shape and takes wear. For clothing it is usually too stiff — there you want drape, here you want body.
