Description
Cotton jersey combines two things that rarely meet: tough enough for daily wear and soft enough for a baby's skin. Weight per square metre comes to 220 g/m², width to 160 cm. It is woven from 94 % cotton and 6 % elastane.
In Light Blue/White the fabric reads matter-of-fact and calm. For everyday clothing that is the least complicated choice. The dot pattern sits evenly spread; when cutting you therefore need not watch the repeat. The cut edge of jersey curls. That is no fault but the nature of the goods; you still finish the edge.
What Cotton Jersey Dots in Light Blue/White is suitable for
- dresses and skirts
- children's clothing
- hoodies and sweat jackets
Care instructions:
Frequently asked questions
Do I need matching cuffing?
For clean finishes at sleeve, hem and neck, yes. Cuffing is cut shorter than the circumference and sewn on stretched — which makes the finish hug rather than stand away.
May the fabric go in the dryer?
The care label decides. In principle knits shrink more in a dryer than on a line. If you plan to tumble dry, do it once before cutting.
Which stitch do I set?
A stretch stitch or a narrow zigzag, otherwise the seam bursts when stretched. If you have an overlocker, use it — it sews and finishes in one pass and is built for knits.
Which way does the fabric stretch?
Clearly across the web, barely along it. Align your pieces accordingly: whatever wraps the body runs crosswise. Confuse the two and you get a piece that will not move.
