Strong contrasts are typical, along with black, grey and neon accents. That makes combining easy: a solid in black, charcoal or a neon shade from the print almost always works.

With lettering, pay particular attention to orientation. Letters standing on their heads or cut off at a seam are immediately obvious – cutting all pieces the same way is essential here.

Handle the fabric like any cotton jersey: pre wash, jersey needle, stretch stitch, press from the reverse. With prints covering large areas, cool washing inside out pays off.

What should I watch for with lettering?

The direction. All pattern pieces have to lie the same way, or the lettering stands on its head on the back. Also check whether a word gets cut through at a seam.
