Description

Upholstery fabric is built for abrasion: densely woven, heavy and made for seating. 140 cm wide, 350 g/m² — figures that tell you how heavily the fabric falls. Material: 100 % polyester.

The tone Anthracite stands between white and black and takes from each only as much as needed. Marled, the fabric reads less severe than plain — and marks show on it less. Table linen from decor fabric takes more than dress fabric and washes hotter. Before cutting, a look at the care symbols on the article pays off.

What Upholstery Fabric Marled in Anthracite is suitable for

Frequently asked questions

What do I do with offcuts?

Coasters, bread baskets, storage pots and bags. Because the fabric holds shape, even small pieces meant to stand work well. Narrow strips become hanging loops, wider ones pockets for the reverse.

Can I wash it?

Yes, within its care label. For cushion covers and table linen pre-washing pays off, since the finished piece goes into the machine later and otherwise no longer fits after the first wash.

Which needle do I need?

A universal needle in a medium to heavy size. On dense goods and several layers go one size up, otherwise the needle snaps at a corner.

How do I finish the edges?

With zigzag or an overlocker, as with any woven. On visible seams in home textiles a clean flat-felled seam or a turned hem pays off as well.
