Snap Tape
Snap tape carries several press studs at even intervals on a carrier tape. Instead of setting each stud individually you sew the tape in once – practical for bedding, covers and long fastenings.

The greatest advantage is the even spacing. Studs set by hand rarely sit at exactly the same distance; on a tape the row is right from the start.
Shorten it between two studs. Make sure both halves of the tape end at the same point, or the studs will no longer meet.
It is usually sewn into an edge or under a facing. Stitch close along both sides so it lies flat and does not lift when opened.
On bedding it pays to reinforce the ends. That is where most of the strain occurs when changing covers, and an extra bar tack stops the tape pulling out.
