Description
Ordinary hook and loop tape is rigid. This one is not: the elastane content lets it give and spring back. A closure therefore sits firmly without digging in and follows movement. The tape is 25 mm wide and made from 91,7 % polyamide and 8,3 % elastane. The hooks grip into the knit of the tape itself, so no separate counterpart is needed. Use it on supports, cuffs, straps and anywhere a closure should move along with the wearer. Sold by the metre from 0,2 metres, so you take exactly the length the closure needs.
What Elastic Hook and Loop Tape 25 mm in White is suitable for

Frequently asked questions
What makes the tape elastic?
The elastane in the knit. It lets the tape give under tension and draw back afterwards. Rigid tape cannot do that, so it ends up either too tight or too loose.
Do I need a counterpart?
No. The hooks grip straight into the knit of the tape, so you can fold it back on itself. For a fixed closure you can still stitch on a piece of loop tape as well.
Does it lose tension over time?
Elastane does weaken eventually, especially with heat. Wash the tape cool and dry it in the air, and it keeps its recovery far longer than it would in a tumble dryer.
Can I sew it?
Yes, best with a narrow zigzag stitch. A straight stitch snaps as soon as the tape stretches. Stitch only at the ends and leave the middle free, so the stretch is preserved.
