Description
This tape carries only the hook half of a hook and loop fastening, and it sits on a knitted, soft backing. That makes it far more flexible than ordinary tape and lets it follow tight curves. At 10 mm it is narrow enough for delicate closures where a wide tape would bulk up. It is made from 100 % polyamide and is sewn on. Any loop tape of matching width works as its counterpart. Sold by the metre from 0,2 metres. Being narrow and soft, the tape does not show through thin fabrics.
What Hook Tape 10 mm in Black is suitable for
- Narrow closures on bags
- Curves and tight corners
- Concealed closures on garments
- Fixings on decorations and costumes

Frequently asked questions
Is the loop half included?
No, this tape is the hook half alone. You need a loop tape of matching width as its counterpart; the two halves do not have to come from the same maker to hold together.
Why a knitted base?
The knitted backing is softer and more flexible than the usual woven tape. That lets the hook tape follow curves without lifting at the edges or forming creases along the way.
Do the hooks scratch on skin?
The hooks are noticeable and uncomfortable against skin. Place them where they sit hidden once closed, and keep the soft loop half facing outwards towards the body.
How do I sew it on?
Close to the edge all the way round, with an ordinary needle and sturdy thread. Do not stitch across the hooks but along the edge, otherwise threads lie over the surface and weaken the grip.
