Description

A tape to fuse or stick holds hems and edges before sewing begins. The stated size is 15 mm. The material is 100 % polyester.

Sewing through an adhesive layer leaves residue on the needle; placing the seam just beside it saves the cleaning. Zips, piping and pockets then sit exactly where they were planned instead of wandering while sewing. After application the bond needs a little time before it is loaded — patience replaces every trick here. Anyone sewing regularly likes to keep such notions in duplicate.

What Vlieseline hemming tape T15 15mm in Black is suitable for

Frequently asked questions

Does the bond survive washing?

Most products are washable once fully dry. The pack states the limit; for hot washes test on a scrap first to see how the spot feels afterwards.

Can I sew over it?

Yes, but residue collects on the needle. Sewing just beside the bonded spot means less cleaning and a more even stitch. A drop of machine oil on a cloth takes residue off the needle.

How should it be stored?

Cool, dry and closed. Opened tubes and rolls last far longer when they are not left open in a warm sewing drawer. Tubes stored upright lose less and gum up at the cap less often.

How much should I apply?

As little as possible: a thin coat holds just as well and dries faster. Too much is squeezed out at the edges and stiffens the fabric.
