Description
A red with neither blue nor orange cast — the red you mean when you say red. For Christmas work it is a given.
Satin ribbon at 6 mm wide in 100 % polyester, by the metre from 0.2 metres. For fine work this width is right: neck bows on children's clothes, tags on gifts, edges on cards. For large bows meant to hold their shape, reach for something wider. No washing, no ironing, no bleach, no drying. Roll leftovers so no creases remain. Because polyester gives hardly at all, the length you measured survives tying, and your loop will not sag.
What Satin Ribbon 6 mm Red is suitable for
- Casings, because this ribbon passes through without twisting.
- Fine hems, because this shade never underlines a seam.
- Layering with wider ribbon, because layers give depth.

Frequently asked questions
Does it shift while sewing?
On smooth satin a presser foot slips easily. Sew slowly, keep slight tension on the ribbon and stitch both edges in the same direction — otherwise your second seam travels against the first.
Does it suit hair bows?
For small bows on baby headbands yes. For larger bows meant to hold their shape, 6 mm is too narrow — reach for a wider ribbon or layer several lengths.
Will it hold on paper?
With double-sided tape or a glue dot it holds well and peels off later without residue. Liquid glue soaks through such narrow ribbon easily, leaving dark marks.
What happens when I seal the edge?
Polyester melts and closes that edge — it takes under a second. Hold the end only briefly to the flame and let it cool before touching, or the sealed edge distorts.
