Description
Violet runs paler and cooler than purple. At a narrow width it reads almost like ink on paper.
6 mm wide, 100 % polyester, by the metre from 0.2 metres. Its satin weave gives that glossy face and matt back; either can be used deliberately. Because polyester gives hardly at all, the length you measure stays the length you have after tying. Care symbols allow no washing, no ironing, no bleach, no tumble drying. For paper, use glue dots rather than liquid glue, which soaks through narrow ribbon easily. A drop of fabric glue inside a knot keeps bows exactly where you tied them.
What Satin Ribbon 6 mm Violet is suitable for
- Small bows, because 6 mm ties tightly.
- Wrapping small things, because this ribbon never dominates.
- Name tags, because this colour guides an eye.

Frequently asked questions
How many colours can one project take?
Two or three from one family read coordinated; four quickly turn restless. On gift wrapping, use two tones and vary the bow shape instead.
Does it suit hair bows?
For small bows on baby headbands yes. For larger bows meant to hold their shape, 6 mm is too narrow — reach for a wider ribbon or layer several lengths.
Can I sew several side by side?
Yes, that gives a fine striped effect. Mark your lines with chalk first and keep the gaps even — at 6 mm, a gap of about one ribbon width looks right.
What happens when I seal the edge?
Polyester melts and closes that edge — it takes under a second. Hold the end only briefly to the flame and let it cool before touching, or the sealed edge distorts.
