Description
A rotary cutter parts fabric in one straight movement without lifting it. Sold as a single item. Supplied in Hot Pink.
After cutting, the tool goes back closed or secured, so that nobody reaches into it. Anyone cutting fabric, paper and interfacing keeps a separate tool for each material — otherwise the edge suffers. Cutting on a base is cleaner: a mat takes the blade and spares the table at the same time. Anyone sewing regularly likes to keep such notions in duplicate. These notions fit any sewing drawer and come to hand quickly.
What OLFA OLFA rotary cutter 45 mm in Hot Pink is suitable for
- Patchwork and quilting
- Unpicking old seams
- Work at a fixed sewing station
Frequently asked questions
When should a blade be changed?
As soon as it leaves threads standing or asks for more pressure than before. A blunt blade drags at the fabric instead of parting it, and the cut edge shows it.
How do I make it safe?
Store it closed or locked and out of reach of children. On a rotary cutter the guard goes back after every cut, not at the end of the day.
Is there anything for left-handers?
Yes, Prym offers shears with reversed blades and rotary cutters that set up for either hand. The pack states which applies. If unsure, try the tool in your hand before buying.
How do I look after it?
Wipe dry, never rinse, and keep the joint moving with a drop of fine oil now and then. Moisture is the only real enemy of a cutting edge.
