Description
From basting to sewing on: what the machine cannot reach, the hand does. The stated size is 25 cm. Sold as a single item. The material is bamboo, plastic.
A needle is a wearing part: after long work it goes blunt, and the sound of each stitch tells you before your eyes do. For basting, darning and sewing on by hand it is the only tool standing between thread and fabric. Cutting the thread short and pulling it smooth threads faster than a frayed end ever will. Prym has made sewing notions in Stolberg for generations.
What Prym Wendenadel Set M + L Pink/Türkis 610189 is suitable for
- Hand sewing and basting
- Sewing on buttons and trims
- Embroidery and decorative stitches
Frequently asked questions
When do I change the needle?
As soon as it snags, pulls threads or asks for more force than before. At the machine one more rule: after every larger project, since a blunt point punches holes instead of piercing.
What do I need for jersey?
A needle with a rounded point that slides between the loops instead of piercing them. An ordinary point creates small ladders that show up later.
How should needles be kept?
In a wallet, a case or on a cushion — sorted, and out of reach of children. Loose needles in a drawer are usually found with a fingertip.
Are they good for embroidery too?
Embroidery needles have a larger eye and often a blunt point so they run between the threads. On counted work that is the difference between pleasure and struggle.
