Laundry marking makes sure clothing finds its way back from a care home, a nursery or a trip. It measures 6 m. Sold as a single item. The colour is Black.
Darts, pocket positions and plackets want marking before the machine runs — afterwards it is only guesswork. Before the first stroke, test on a hidden spot: every fabric takes markings differently. Markings stay visible as long as they are needed and then go with water, an iron or a brush. Prym has made sewing notions in Stolberg for generations.
What Prym Wäschemakierset 6m 611801 is suitable for
- Marking darts and seam lines
- Transferring patterns onto fabric
- Drawing quilting lines and grids
Frequently asked questions
Does the marking come off again?
Depending on the type with water, with heat or by brushing out. The pack says which applies; a test on a hidden spot shows it within a minute on your own fabric.
Which fabrics does it suit?
Most wovens and knits. On very absorbent or coated goods every marking behaves differently, so a test on a scrap stays the safest route. On velvet and towelling it is better to mark on the reverse.
What works on dark fabrics?
A light marking — white chalk or a pen with a pale lead. On dark cloth any dark line disappears as soon as the fabric folds.
How should pens be stored?
Lying flat, capped and out of the sun. Pens left open dry out, and a dried tip draws streaks instead of lines. A pen that no longer draws can sometimes be revived on paper.
