Description

This holding aid keeps fabric and pattern in place without piercing anything. It measures Ø 30 mm. The pack holds 4 weights. Made from cotton, steel.

What stays put before sewing comes out straight: gluing and fixing replaces basting and holds even where pins would get in the way. After application the bond needs a little time before it is loaded — patience replaces every trick here. The spot must be clean, dry and free of grease — no adhesive layer holds on dusty fabric. These notions fit any sewing drawer and come to hand quickly.

What Prym Mini holding aid 30mm in Hot Pink is suitable for

  • Fixing instead of basting
  • Inserting zips and piping
  • Repairs to outdoor clothing

Frequently asked questions

Can I sew over it?

Yes, but residue collects on the needle. Sewing just beside the bonded spot means less cleaning and a more even stitch. A drop of machine oil on a cloth takes residue off the needle.

Which fabrics does it suit?

Wovens and knits, leather and coated fabrics. Very absorbent goods take up more, so apply sparingly there and allow longer drying. On velvet and fleece, keep the application to the reverse side.

How much should I apply?

As little as possible: a thin coat holds just as well and dries faster. Too much is squeezed out at the edges and stiffens the fabric.

Is it suitable for children's clothing?

Once dry there is nothing against it, unless the pack says otherwise. On babywear a seam still remains the more durable answer. As long as something still smells, it is not dry and does not belong on a child.
