Description
<p>Grey green is a quiet grey with a hint of green for outdoor jackets, parkas and loden coats. It pairs with olive, taupe and stone grey and never pushes to the front. At 85 cm the zip suits jackets that reach past the hip and parkas with a high collar.</p><p>On long cuts the lower slider pays off: it gives room when climbing stairs or cycling without letting cold in from the top. To take the jacket off, push both sliders down and pull the pin out of the box. The moulded zip has 5 mm plastic teeth that still run smoothly after many winters.</p><p>Length is measured as tooth length from stopper to stopper, without the tape. Colour code 326.</p>

Sewing tips
- Länge am fertigen Schnittteil messen, nicht am Schnittmuster – Nahtzugaben und Saum verändern die gebrauchte Länge.
- Vor dem Einnähen beide Schieber zusammen nach oben ziehen und den Verschluss schließen, dann liegen die Hälften gleich hoch.
- Reißverschlussfuß verwenden; an den Schiebern die Nadel unten lassen, Fuß anheben und die Schieber vorbeischieben.
- Beide Seiten auf gleicher Höhe heften. Verschiebt sich eine Hälfte, steht die Jacke am Saum auseinander.
- Bei dehnbaren Stoffen den Beleg mit Vlieseline verstärken, sonst wellt sich die Kante entlang des Bandes.
- Krampenverschlüsse nicht direkt bügeln, die Kunststoffzähne vertragen keine Hitze.
- Beim Waschen den Verschluss schließen, dann verzieht sich das Band nicht.

Frequently asked questions
How do I measure the right length?
Measure the front edge on the finished pattern piece from hem to neckline and deduct the seam allowances. If the measurement falls between two lengths, take the longer one and shorten it at the top.
How do I care for the zip?
Close it before washing so the tape does not twist. The polyester tape tolerates a wash up to 40 degrees. Do not iron the plastic teeth directly, put a cloth between them and the iron.
How do I position the sliders when sewing in?
Close the zip and pull both sliders up together. Then the halves sit level. When sewing past the sliders, leave the needle down, lift the foot and slide them past it.
Can I shorten the zip?
Yes, but only from the top, because the box and pin sit at the bottom. Remove a few teeth at the top, set a new stop with hand stitches and make sure the upper slider cannot slip off.
