Description

Fine watercolour dots in coral, mint and sand are loosely spread over a light beige ground. A quiet design that keeps large areas calm and accompanies the animal motifs of the series.

Waldfreunde is a coordinated series: foxes and hares among fir trees as its main motif, plus a watercolour dot and a matching stripe. Natural white, mint, warm beige and a hint of coral tie all three together. This French terry is smooth outside, loop-knitted inside and at 250 g/m² substantial without being heavy. Its 145 cm of width suits adult sizes too.

Sewn solo, each design looks calm and grown-up enough for matching parent and child outfits.

What French Terry Waldfreunde Dots on Beige by Swafing by Sabine Marschall is suitable for

  • Sweaters and hoodies, ideally combining several designs of the series.
  • Dresses, skirts and sets for babies and children.
  • Comfortable trousers and tops for adults.

Frequently asked questions

How do I combine the three designs?

A proven approach is a calm design for large areas and the animal motif as an eye-catcher, for instance on the front or hood. Stripes suit sleeves and cuff areas, while dots work well for linings and pockets.

How do I sew French terry?

With an overlocker or elastic stitch and a jersey needle, so seams stay stretchy. Topstitch hems and cuffs with a twin needle or coverstitch. Guide the fabric while sewing rather than pulling it.

How do I care for this fabric?

Wash inside out at 30 degrees, do not bleach and do not tumble dry. Let it dry flat. Iron at most on a low setting from the reverse, which keeps print and loops looking good.

Is it brushed inside?

No, small loops sit inside rather than fluff. That makes this summer sweat airier than brushed sweat and pleasant all year, from spring into a mild winter.
