From basting to sewing on: what the machine cannot reach, the hand does. Sold as 10 pieces. Made from steel.
Cutting the thread short and pulling it smooth threads faster than a frayed end ever will. For basting, darning and sewing on by hand it is the only tool standing between thread and fabric. Needles belong in dry, sorted storage; loose in a drawer they corrode and are never the one being looked for. These notions fit any sewing drawer and come to hand quickly.

Frequently asked questions
When do I change the needle?
As soon as it snags, pulls threads or asks for more force than before. At the machine one more rule: after every larger project, since a blunt point punches holes instead of piercing.
Why do needles corrode?
Moisture and hand perspiration are enough. Dry storage and a quick wipe after work keep them bright; a filled pincushion protects further. A rusty needle belongs in the bin, because it leaves marks on fabric.
How do I thread more easily?
Cut the thread smooth, hold it against a pale background and bring the needle to the thread rather than the other way round. A threader takes over on tired evenings.
How should needles be kept?
In a wallet, a case or on a cushion — sorted, and out of reach of children. Loose needles in a drawer are usually found with a fingertip.
