Webbing carries weight, so one thing matters above all: it must never lengthen under load. This one runs Webbing in Royal Blue, 40 mm wide, made from 100 % polypropylene.
Width decides your hardware: snap hooks, D-rings plus sliders all want that same clearance, otherwise webbing jams, or slides about. Thread one piece through before cutting, checking it lies flat.
Cut it by hot knife, or pass its end briefly over a flame against fraying. Would you rather not, fold that end twice, then stitch it down. Stitch a strap inside a rectangle crossed through — whatever gives way sits almost always at its fixing, never within webbing itself.
What Gurtband 40 mm breit Royalblau mit Sternen is suitable for
- Bag straps plus rucksack straps, because webbing spreads weight.
- Belts, since it holds firmly enough under a buckle.
- Loops plus handles over bags that get daily use.
Frequently asked questions
Which width suits my hardware?
Snap hooks, D-rings plus sliders want exactly that clearance which your webbing measures. Larger, everything slides about; smaller, webbing jams, refusing every adjustment afterwards.
How do I cut webbing without fraying?
Sever it using a hot knife, or pass its end over a flame briefly, fusing those threads. Avoiding open flames, fold that end twice, stitching it down inside a dense rectangle.
Will it carry a loaded bag?
Yes, provided your seam keeps up. Webbing itself barely lengthens under load; whatever gives way usually sits at its fixing. So stitch a strap inside a rectangle crossed through, never across one single line.
May webbing be washed?
Within its finished piece, yes. Higher temperatures shrink synthetics slightly, so prefer washing cool. Dry everything flat, otherwise webbing twists around itself.
