Description

Whatever you cut from Felty does not fray: no finishing, no seam allowance, no pressed-under edge. 25 cm wide, 3 m long — the roll covers a whole run of designs. Its weight per square metre is 210 g/m².

Patches keep their shape when backed with a fusible stabiliser. The felt stays colourfast through frequent washing; the garment it sits on sets the limit. Store it dry, flat and without creases. It ships singly, so you can restock exactly what you need. If you embroider regularly, keeping one of the common sizes in stock pays off.

What Sulky Felty Stickfilz Dunkelblau is suitable for

  • machine embroidery on felt
  • decoration for the home
  • coasters and small home textiles

Sewing tips

Frequently asked questions

Does the cut edge fray?

No. Felt is not a weave but a needled surface — it has no grain and no warp that could unravel. That is why a cut edge needs no finishing.

May I iron the felt?

At moderate heat and with a pressing cloth between. Polyester takes no high temperature; direct heat flattens the surface and makes it shiny. A quick test on an offcut shows how much heat the felt takes.

How many colours are there?

Over twenty, from muted naturals to neon. Anyone making appliqué in series finds nearly every tone — and the colour number makes it reorderable. The number appears on the band and in the article name.

What do I do with offcuts?

Keep them. Felt offcuts store indefinitely, do not fray and are plenty for letters, small shapes and badges — work that only needs strips anyway. A shoebox of felt offcuts is worth its weight in any workroom.
