Description

This thread holds copper, brown and orange. The change is short enough that even small areas turn multicoloured. At 200 m per spool this thread covers several designs. Weight 40, colour code 1510. The sheen arises inside the polyester filament and therefore lasts.

For area-filling designs multicolour is the simplest way to gain depth: what reads flat in a solid thread gains structure here by itself. Its appeal lies in unpredictability: which tone lands where in a design is decided by stitch path rather than software.

What Madeira Polyneon Multicolour Cappuccino Embroidery Thread 200 m Col 1510 is suitable for

  • area embroidery designs with a gradient
  • decorative topstitching on plain ground
  • designs on textiles washed hot

Sewing tips

Frequently asked questions

Can I steer where each colour lands?

Only partly. Stitch length influences the rhythm: long stitches show larger blocks of colour, short ones blend the tones more. The exact distribution stays with the stitch path.

How do I set the thread tension?

Looser for embroidery than for sewing. It is right when the reverse shows roughly one third top thread and two thirds bobbin thread, whichever tone happens to be running.

Do I need stabiliser?

Almost always. Stabiliser holds your fabric steady in the hoop so a design does not distort. On the dense areas multicolour tends to get, it matters especially.

Which needle suits it?

An embroidery needle with a larger eye and a slight ball point. It spares the thread at the transitions and leaves your weave undamaged. Blunt needles drag and break the thread.
