Description

turquoise, petrol and mint succeed one another along the thread. How long each section reads in a design depends on your stitch length. 200 m, weight 40, colour code 1608 — with multicolour that code is the only reliable description. A net over the spool keeps the feed even.

For area-filling designs multicolour is the simplest way to gain depth: what reads flat in a solid thread gains structure here by itself. This thread is built like solid Polyneon — polyester at weight 40, chlorine- and boil-proof — and differs only in its dyeing.

What Madeira Polyneon Multicolour Jungle Embroidery Thread 200 m Col 1608 is suitable for

  • area embroidery designs with a gradient
  • quilting seams meant to look lively
  • decorative topstitching on plain ground

Sewing tips

Frequently asked questions

Can I combine multicolour with a solid thread?

Yes, and often that is the better answer: the area in multicolour, the outline in one of its tones. Your design then reads lively while staying clearly defined.

Which needle suits it?

An embroidery needle with a larger eye and a slight ball point. It spares the thread at the transitions and leaves your weave undamaged. Blunt needles drag and break the thread.

What do I do when the thread breaks?

Slow down and loosen the top tension. A net over the spool keeps the feed calm. The thread is no weaker at colour transitions, so it does not break there more often.

How do I hoop the fabric?

Taut like a drum skin, but without stretching the cloth. Pull it and you get ripples once it comes out — on the large areas multicolour tends to get, that shows immediately.
