Description

Light green is the green of first leaves: bright, friendly, full of new beginnings. As ribbing it looks especially fresh against natural white, while forming a surprisingly earthy pairing next to brown or ochre. The fabric runs approximately 100 cm wide — enough to cut sleeve, hem and neck ribbing from one short piece. Light greens appear less often in sewing rooms than blue or grey, which is exactly why they make a difference: light green edges on a plain jumper stand out positively without being intrusive.

Sew using a stretch or jersey needle in size 75 to 80, moving up to 90 across several layers at a hood or waistband. An overlocker or elastic stitch keeps the seam flexible, while a straight stitch snaps as the garment is pulled on.

How much ribbing do I need?

Sleeve and hem ribbing on a jumper usually takes only a short piece, while hoodies including hood facings or pockets need more. We cut from 0.2 metres upwards, so you can order exactly what your pattern calls for.
