Description

Aubergine 938 is a deep, muted purple with a brownish-red undertone – dark enough for calm autumn and winter pieces, yet warmer than a classic violet. The solid surface shows the fine knit structure, and seams or darts stay visible rather than disappearing into the dark shade.

At 220 g/m², Vanessa sits in the medium-weight range: opaque enough for dresses and skirts while staying soft and easy against the body. The 5% elastane gives good recovery, so cuff edges, knees and elbows keep their shape. The drape is soft and flowing without looking slack, and the smooth face feels pleasant on the skin.

The fabric is certified to Oeko-Tex Standard 100 and its 155 cm width leaves room for larger pattern pieces.

How much does the fabric stretch?

With 5% elastane alongside 95% cotton, the jersey stretches elastically – mainly across the width – and springs back into shape. That makes it a good match for close-fitting patterns.

Should I prewash before cutting?

Yes, we recommend washing at 30 °C first. Residual shrinkage is 5%, so washing before cutting takes that out and your finished garment keeps its size later on.
