Petrol comes across here as a calm, muted blue with a hint of green - not too cool, not too dark, but earthy and easy to wear every day. The colour looks even and dense, without any streaky shading, just as you'd expect from a cleanly dyed solid jersey.
The handfeel is soft and smooth, with the typical 5 percent elastane content giving noticeable stretch without the fabric losing its shape over time. At 220 g/m² it sits in the medium-weight range: it drapes softly but still has enough body to stay opaque.
When cutting, the 5 percent residual shrinkage becomes relevant, so pre-washing is worthwhile. Overall, Vanessa in Petrol is a fabric that fits quietly into many projects and really shows off its even, rich colour.
