About this range

Wanja ist ein Samt-Breitcord von Swafing mit kräftigen, rund einen Zentimeter breiten Rippen aus weichem, leicht changierendem Samtflor. Aus 100 % Polyester, 380 g/m² schwer und 140 cm breit. Der Stoff ist sehr scheuerfest und eignet sich als Bezugsstoff für Sessel, Stühle und Hocker genauso wie für Kissen, Taschen und Jacken.

Sewing tips

Die Rippen haben eine Strichrichtung. Alle Teile gleich herum zuschneiden, sonst glänzen sie unterschiedlich.
Rippen längs zum Fadenlauf legen und an den Nähten auf gleicher Höhe ausrichten, bei Kissen auch diagonal möglich.
Jeans- oder Universalnadel 90 bis 100, Stichlänge 3, am besten mit Obertransportfuß.
Nahtzugaben schmal zurückschneiden und auseinanderlegen, dann trägt die Naht weniger auf.
Für Polsterarbeiten den Stoff straff spannen und mit Polsterklammern befestigen.
Bei 30 Grad waschen, nicht bleichen, nicht in den Trockner und nicht bügeln.

Wanja is a wide-wale corduroy with a soft velvet pile and bold ribs that shimmer slightly depending on the light. The fabric has body and is very hard-wearing, which makes it suitable for upholstering armchairs, chairs and stools as well as for cushions, bags and statement jackets.

The broad ribs give every piece a clear line. On cushions you can set them vertically, horizontally or diagonally and play with the structure.

Like every corduroy, Wanja has a nap direction. Cut all pieces the same way round and line up the ribs at the seams. For upholstery, stretch the fabric taut and fix it with upholstery staples.
