Description
A light, soft blue like a spring sky. With white, grey and navy it looks fresh; with baby pink it feels playful.
With a diameter of 8 mm, this round braided cord is a strong choice for anything that gets drawn closed. It is made from 100 % cotton, pleasantly grippy and hardly twists. Care: wash at 30 degrees, no tumble dryer. Available from 0.5 metres, so you get exactly as much as each project really needs and nothing is left over. Because the cord is thicker than standard hoodie laces, it looks high quality and stays easy to grip.
What Round Cotton Cord 8 mm Baby Blue is suitable for
- Gym bags, duffel bags and laundry bags
- Hood cords for parkas and anoraks
- Bag straps and key rings
- Macramé and decorative projects
Sewing tips
Available in more colours in the Kordel rund 8 mm series.

Frequently asked questions
How do I thread the cord in?
Wrap the end in a little tape or knot it, then guide it through the channel with a large safety pin. For a cord this sturdy, a bodkin with a wide eye makes the job easier.
Does the cord shrink in the wash?
Cotton draws in slightly during its first wash. So prewash the cord together with your fabric before threading it in, and the length will still be right afterwards.
How much cord do I need for a hood?
Measure the channel and add on each side the length you want to hang down. As a guide, take the channel length plus roughly a hand width per end.
How wide should the channel be for 8 mm?
Make the channel clearly wider than the cord, roughly two centimetres when stitched. If it is too narrow, the cord snags as you pull it and puts needless strain on the seam.
