Description
A muted mint green with a grey undertone, fresh yet understated. With natural white, sand and dusty pink it looks soft and modern.
Round braided, 8 mm thick and made from 100 % cotton: this cord takes tension without slipping and stays soft at the same time. It copes with a 30 degree wash; skip the tumble dryer. Sold by the metre from 0.5 metres, so you get exactly the length you need for a hood, bag or waistband without much left over. Its cross-section stays round when knotted, so knots and end caps sit neatly.
What Round Cotton Cord 8 mm Dark Dusty Mint is suitable for

- Pouches for toys, shoes and sports kit
Sewing tips
Available in more colours in the Kordel rund 8 mm series.

Frequently asked questions
Do eyelets and end caps fit this thickness?
Choose eyelets and cord stoppers with an inner opening of at least eight millimetres, ideally a little more. Then the cord glides through easily without rubbing and is still comfortable to draw closed after many washes.
How do I thread the cord in?
Wrap the end in a little tape or knot it, then guide it through the channel with a large safety pin. For a cord this sturdy, a bodkin with a wide eye makes the job easier.
Does the cord fray at the ends?
Only a little, because it is tightly braided. For neat ends, knot it, fit a cord end cap or wrap the end with thread. Heat sealing does not work on pure cotton.
How much cord do I need for a hood?
Measure the channel and add on each side the length you want to hang down. As a guide, take the channel length plus roughly a hand width per end.
