With Lime you hit the range between blue and yellow. Depending on your fabric the tone reads fresher or calmer. At 200 m the spool covers several accents. Weight 40, colour code 052. The spool is sold singly.
Metallic thread belongs where things should shine: monograms, stars, outlines — not across large areas. Its shine is metallic rather than silky — which separates Sparkling clearly from the glossy polyester threads. A test piece beforehand saves trouble in the middle of a design. Note the colour code with your project straight away.
What Madeira Metallic Sparkling Limette is suitable for
- monograms with a metallic shine
- decorative stitches on a sewing machine
- labelling on bags
Sewing tips

Frequently asked questions
Why does metallic thread break so easily?
Because the metal foil around its core is more delicate than a smooth polyester filament. Stitch slower, loosen the top tension and fit a metallic needle with a large eye — that usually solves it.
How fast may I stitch?
Considerably slower than with polyester. Friction in the needle eye warms the thread, and metal foil takes that worse than a smooth core. About half your usual speed is a good starting point.
May I iron over the embroidery?
No, not directly. Metal foil takes no direct heat and turns dull. If ironing is needed, work from the reverse with a cloth between and at a low temperature.
Can I stitch whole areas with it?
Technically yes, visually rarely sensible. The shine works hardest as an accent. Across large areas it reads restless, and longer stitching time raises the risk of thread breaks.
