Description

Black is the counterpole to white. Most of all sewing happens between these two tones. The cone holds 2500 m — with four threads running at once, an amount that lasts a while. Colour code 4000. Thread tension may sit slightly lower than for sewing thread — this one is softer.

Suitable for neatening cut edges on jersey and wovens alike. Amann supplies Trojalock on large cones. Since an overlocker consumes four threads at once, that is necessity rather than convenience. Keep to the looper order when threading, otherwise the stitch does not form.

What Trojalock Overlockgarn Schwarz is suitable for

  • rolled hems on light fabrics
  • seams on children's clothes washed often
  • visible edges in the fabric colour

Sewing tips

Frequently asked questions

Does the seam take hot washing?

Yes, this thread is colourfast and copes with usual temperatures. Your fabric sets the limit: wash the piece as its material allows, not as the thread could.

Why does my thread break?

Usually tension set too tight, a blunt needle or a wrong threading path. On an overlocker rethreading completely in the prescribed order pays off.

How should I store the cones?

Upright, dry and out of the light. Because of their size cones usually stand in the open — a net or a box stops threads unwinding and tangling.

Can I mix different threads in one seam?

In the loopers yes, on the needle threads rather not. Different threads stretch by different amounts, and your seam then pulls together unevenly or ripples along the edge.
