Description

Pumpkin is the friendly version of a strong tone: visible, yet not as hard as a pure red. 2500 m per cone: overlock thread runs through fast, which is why the cones are this large. Colour code 8414. Thread tension may sit slightly lower than for sewing thread — this one is softer.

It serves a coverstitch machine as well, as long as tension is matched to its softer twist. Trojalock is strong enough for the load along an edge and soft enough that a seam adds no bulk. Change needles regularly; blunt points drag at a soft thread.

What Trojalock Overlockgarn Kürbis is suitable for

  • neatening edges on wovens
  • edges on clothing worn against skin
  • looper threads in a neutral tone

Sewing tips

Frequently asked questions

Must all threads share one colour?

No. The needle threads decide what shows along the seam; a neutral tone may run in the loopers. That saves time at colour changes and looks barely different on the finished piece.

Can I use it in a sewing machine?

Better not for load-bearing seams. Overlock thread is built for softness and takes less strain than sewing thread. For decorative and basting seams it is no problem.

What is a cone net for?

It sits over the cone and brakes the thread slightly. At speed that stops several layers coming loose at once and the thread catching under the cone.

How far does one cone go?

The large cones are built to survive several projects. How fast they empty depends on how many edges you neaten and how many threads you run.
