Description
Dark blue/smoke blue pairs a rich navy with a light, greyish smoke blue on the reverse. Tone on tone it looks calm and considered. A reversible vest shows the dark or the light side depending on your mood and goes well with jeans and grey.
Teddy Boucle is a doubleface fabric: small, densely set boucle curls on the outside and smooth fleece on the inside. Both sides are finished, so a vest or jacket needs no lining. Edges can be left raw or bound with bias tape, because fleece does not fray.
Besides vests the fabric suits teddy coats, reversible jackets, hats and warm children's clothing. If you like, sew a reversible vest that can be worn on either side.

Sewing tips
- Doubleface: Die Fleece-Abseite ist die fertige Innenseite. Westen und Jacken brauchen kein Futter.
- Weil man die Innenseite sieht, die Nähte sauber versäubern, als Kappnaht oder mit Schrägband eingefasst.
- Kanten mit Schrägband oder Bündchen einfassen. Fleece franst nicht, offene Kanten gehen also auch.
- Bei Paddy zeigt sich die abgesetzte Rückseite überall, wo der Stoff umgeschlagen wird, am Kragen, am Revers und an den Ärmelaufschlägen. Diese Stellen beim Zuschnitt bewusst einplanen.
- Alle Teile in dieselbe Strichrichtung zuschneiden.
- Universalnadel 90, Stichlänge 3, am besten mit Obertransportfuß.
- Nicht direkt bügeln, die Locken drücken sich sonst platt.
- Bei 30 Grad waschen, nicht in den Trockner.

Frequently asked questions
Does Teddy Boucle need a lining?
No. The fabric is doubleface with boucle outside and smooth fleece inside. Both sides are finished, so vests and jackets can be sewn without a lining and still look tidy on the inside.
What is the difference between the matching version and Paddy?
Both are doubleface. In the matching version boucle and fleece share the same shade, Paddy has a contrasting reverse. It shows wherever the fabric is folded over, for example at collars and cuffs.
How do I wash Teddy Boucle?
At 30 degrees, ideally turned inside out and with a low spin. Do not put it in the dryer, let it dry flat instead. That keeps both the curls and the fleece soft and attractive for a long time.
Does boucle shed when cut?
A little, mostly at the cut edges. Use only the tip of the scissors on the base and vacuum loose fibres thoroughly afterwards. After that the fabric and the machine stay clean while sewing.
