Dark Grey is a neutral tone without direction. It sits beside almost any colour without changing it. 100 m, number 9455, matched to jeans needles in sizes 90 to 110. Raise the tension a little so the topstitching lies taut.
It also serves to repair existing jeans seams, since it matches the tone of the old stitching. As a polyester thread it takes the strain that arises on trouser seams and does not lose its colour doing so. A jeans needle belongs with it; a universal needle breaks on thick layers. The spool covers topstitching on several pairs of trousers.

Frequently asked questions
What stitch length is right?
A little longer than on a normal seam — three to three and a half millimetres look right on jeans. Short stitches make a heavy seam read crowded and restless.
Can I assemble the trousers with it?
Better not. Structural seams take ordinary sewing thread; this one is meant for the visible seam. At the limit the seam construction counts for more than thread weight.
Why does the thread break on thick spots?
Because the needle meets more resistance there. Sew slower, turn the handwheel at the thickest points and fit a fresh jeans needle — that solves it in most cases.
Does it suit faux leather?
Yes. On bags and belts in faux leather the strong seam looks coherent. A leather needle and a walking foot make the work considerably easier, because faux leather sticks under a normal foot.
