This thread is meant for visible topstitching on jeans — heavier than ordinary sewing thread and deliberately conspicuous. As a polyester thread it takes the strain that arises on trouser seams and does not lose its colour doing so. A jeans needle belongs with it; a universal needle breaks on thick layers.

Eine Jeansnadel der Stärke 90 bis 110 verwenden, sonst bricht sie an dicken Lagen.
Für die Ziernaht das Denim-Garn als Oberfaden, unten normales Nähgarn in passender Farbe.
Stichlänge auf drei bis dreieinhalb Millimeter stellen, das sieht an Jeans richtig aus.
An dicken Stellen langsam nähen und notfalls das Handrad drehen.
Fadenspannung etwas erhöhen, damit die Steppnaht straff liegt.

Which needle do I need?

A jeans needle in size 90 to 110. It has a stronger point and a sturdier shaft so it does not snap on thick layers. A universal needle does not stand up to the load.

How far does one spool go?

Across topstitching on several pairs of trousers. Since only the top thread uses it and topstitching runs short, the spool lasts longer than its length first suggests.

Does it suit faux leather?

Yes. On bags and belts in faux leather the strong seam looks coherent. A leather needle and a walking foot make the work considerably easier, because faux leather sticks under a normal foot.

Is the spool sold singly?

Yes, every spool on its own. Since denim thread is usually needed in one tone per project, buying the single tone beats an assortment.
