This thread shows Royal Blue. Against denim in any wash it is the tone that draws the least attention. The spool holds 100 m of denim sewing thread, and the number on the label reads 6756. Raise the tension a little so the topstitching lies taut.

It also serves to repair existing jeans seams, since it matches the tone of the old stitching. The thread is colourfast and survives the washing a pair of jeans takes over years. A jeans needle belongs with it; a universal needle breaks on thick layers. The spool covers topstitching on several pairs of trousers.

Eine Jeansnadel der Stärke 90 bis 110 verwenden, sonst bricht sie an dicken Lagen.
Für die Ziernaht das Denim-Garn als Oberfaden, unten normales Nähgarn in passender Farbe.
Stichlänge auf drei bis dreieinhalb Millimeter stellen, das sieht an Jeans richtig aus.
An dicken Stellen langsam nähen und notfalls das Handrad drehen.
Fadenspannung etwas erhöhen, damit die Steppnaht straff liegt.

Do I have to change the tension?

Usually yes, a touch tighter. Heavy thread needs more pull for topstitching to lie flat. A test piece on the same layers answers faster than any settings table.

Can I assemble the trousers with it?

Better not. Structural seams take ordinary sewing thread; this one is meant for the visible seam. At the limit the seam construction counts for more than thread weight.

Can I repair an old jeans seam with it?

Yes, that is one of the commonest uses. What matters is matching the old seam's tone; laying it on the seam in daylight helps more than comparing on a screen.

Does it suit faux leather?

Yes. On bags and belts in faux leather the strong seam looks coherent. A leather needle and a walking foot make the work considerably easier, because faux leather sticks under a normal foot.
