Mottled burgundy sits precisely between red and brown: warm, deep, pleasantly lively through its blended fibres. Beside camel, natural white and dark grey it looks especially premium, calming down next to grey. This French terry sits in the middle weight, draping softly, which shows well in dresses or loose jumpers. Mottled reds appear far less often than mottled greys — which is exactly what makes them interesting: a jumper in mottled burgundy looks more elaborate than it was to sew. Pre-wash before cutting, so the finished garment still fits correctly after its first wash.
