Nickel is a mid grey leaning slightly blue. It reads cooler than silver and carries noticeably more on pale fabric. For shadows, metal parts and grey areas with structure.
The thread takes washing at 60 degrees, and chlorine bleach in moderation as well. That suits it to laundry which has to run hot. Iron at medium temperature and rather from the back — pressed directly, the matt surface turns shiny in places.
The embroidery keeps a calm surface even after many washes. Polyester takes up hardly any water, so a design does not shrink while the fabric around it moves.

Is Frosted Matt suitable for quilting?
Yes. The matt surface lets the quilting line step back, so the pattern works through structure rather than shine. For visible quilting lines on quiet fabrics that is often the better choice.
Can I use the thread in a sewing machine?
For decorative work yes, as regular sewing thread no. It is built as machine embroidery thread; for load-bearing seams it lacks the tensile strength of an all-purpose sewing thread.
Why does the colour look different on screen?
Screens render colour differently, and matt surfaces throw back less light than glossy ones. If you need it exact, work from the printed Madeira shade card rather than from a monitor.
Can I press the finished design?
From the back, at medium temperature. Pressed directly, the matt surface gets flattened and starts to shine — precisely what you want to avoid with this thread.
