Description
Hot pink here is a deep, berry-toned pink. No candy shade, but a pink with weight and depth. On grey and natural tones it reads modern rather than girlish.
The colours are dyed for high lightfastness. Whatever sits by a window or hangs outdoors keeps its tone longer than it would with ordinary embroidery thread. For cushions, bags and anything that catches sun, that is the real reason to reach for this thread.
The thread runs on domestic machines as well as multi-needle ones. All that matters is a clean thread path: a net over the spool keeps the feed calm when the machine runs fast.

Frequently asked questions
How does Frosted Matt differ from glossy embroidery thread?
It is matt, and genuinely so: ceramic in the fibre takes the shine out of the polyester. A design reads calmer, and the colour does not shift when you turn the fabric or hold it into the light.
Which needle suits this thread?
Madeira recommends a machine embroidery needle in size 75 or 80. Anything finer and the thread starts to chafe in the eye, breaking eventually in the middle of a filled area.
Do I need a special bobbin thread?
A fine bobbin yarn belongs in the bobbin case, not Frosted Matt itself. White under pale fabric, black under dark. That way the back builds up less and your design stays flat.
Can the embroidery be washed hot?
Up to 60 degrees yes, chlorine bleach in moderation as well. Iron at medium temperature, never directly on the design — otherwise the matt surface turns shiny in single spots.
