Natural white is a neutral white without brighteners. It sits between cream and bright white and suits almost any fabric. The white for anyone who finds bright white too cold and cream too yellow.
The ceramic in the fibre takes the shine out of the thread. A design therefore looks as if drawn in chalk, and neither light nor viewing angle changes much about that — unlike glossy polyester, which appears lighter or darker depending on stitch direction. For lettering and filled areas that is exactly the advantage.
Set beside glossy polyester, Frosted Matt gives a design a calm area from which outlines lift. Many people use exactly that difference rather than having to choose between the two kinds of thread.

Which needle suits this thread?
Madeira recommends a machine embroidery needle in size 75 or 80. Anything finer and the thread starts to chafe in the eye, breaking eventually in the middle of a filled area.
Do I need a special bobbin thread?
A fine bobbin yarn belongs in the bobbin case, not Frosted Matt itself. White under pale fabric, black under dark. That way the back builds up less and your design stays flat.
Can the embroidery be washed hot?
Up to 60 degrees yes, chlorine bleach in moderation as well. Iron at medium temperature, never directly on the design — otherwise the matt surface turns shiny in single spots.
