Description

A delicate, pale pink. For children's clothes, baby pieces and anything meant to look light, it is the obvious pick. 45 cm long — pick your length by the pattern piece rather than the paper pattern, since seam allowances and hem change the measurement.

This coil is 3 mm wide — the finest version in the range. It is light, flexible and adds hardly any bulk on thin fabrics. Close the fastener before every wash, so the tape will not distort and the teeth cannot catch in other laundry. Never press directly over the slider.

What Closed-End Zip 45 cm Pale Pink is suitable for

  • Trousers and skirts, because only an opening should part there.
  • Cases and pouches, because the tape adds little bulk.
  • Wash bags, because this fastener sews in flat.

Sewing tips

Frequently asked questions

How do I care for the finished piece?

Close the fastener before every wash. The tape then will not distort and the teeth cannot catch in other laundry. Never press directly over the slider.

How exactly must the colour match?

On visible fastenings as closely as possible; on concealed ones a roughly matching tone will do. If unsure, take the next darker shade — one too pale stands out more.

Which needle should I use?

A universal needle in a suitable size. Never sew across the teeth themselves — on metal a needle breaks, on plastic it bends. Push the slider aside first.

How should I store fasteners?

Flat and closed, ideally sorted by length. Stored folded, the tape keeps that crease, and you see it later along the sewn-in edge.
