Separating Zip 55 cm Pale Pink

A delicate, pale pink. For children's clothes, baby pieces and anything meant to look light, it is the obvious pick. 55 cm — that length is measured without the tape running into the seam above and below.

That continuous coil runs 5 mm. Against metal teeth it reads less conspicuous and follows curves more softly. Too long, and you shorten it from the top: cut, fold the tape into your seam allowance, set a new stop with hand stitches. From the bottom you cannot — that is where the box and pin sit.

What Separating Zip 55 cm Pale Pink is suitable for

• Children's jackets, because the piece goes on and off easily.
• Cardigans, because a fastener replaces a button placket.
• Covers meant to come off entirely, because both halves separate.

Sewing tips
