Separating Zip 30 cm White
Item no. 10735
€2.20per piece
Unit price €7.33 / m · incl. VAT, plus shipping
In white at 30 cm: a separating zip, Spirale with 5 mm width, sold singly. The stated length is tooth length without the tape. Measure on your finished pattern piece.
A clear white with no cream cast. On white or pale fabrics it stays discreet; on dark ones it turns into a design element. Its length is 30 cm. That is tooth length; the tape above it disappears into your seam allowance.
At 5 mm the coil is strong enough for sweat jackets and bags, yet still light enough not to drag at your fabric. Close the fastener before every wash. The tape then will not distort and the teeth cannot catch in other laundry. Never press directly over the slider.
What Separating Zip 30 cm White is suitable for
Waistcoats, because it lies smoothly into the front edge.
Children's jackets, because the piece goes on and off easily.
Covers meant to come off entirely, because both halves separate.
Sewing tips

Frequently asked questions
How do I thread it back together?
Slider all the way down, guide the pin straight into the box and push it in to the stop. Only then pull up. Entered at an angle, the pin jams and the slider jumps off again.
Can I shorten it?
From the top yes: cut it, fold the tape into your seam allowance and set a new stop with a few hand stitches. From the bottom you cannot — that is where the box and pin sit.
The slider sticks — what helps?
Usually fabric is caught between the teeth; ease it out rather than forcing it. If it still runs stiff, a little candle wax on the teeth helps.
How should I store fasteners?
Flat and closed, ideally sorted by length. Stored folded, the tape keeps that crease, and you see it later along the sewn-in edge.
