Separating Zip 80 cm White
Item no. 14505
€3.20per piece
Unit price €4.00 / m · incl. VAT, plus shipping
A 80 cm separating zip in white. Version Spirale, width 5 mm, available singly. The stated length is tooth length without the tape. Measure on your finished pattern piece.
A clear white with no cream cast. On white or pale fabrics it stays discreet; on dark ones it turns into a design element. 80 cm — that length is measured without the tape running into the seam above and below.
5 mm of coil width — the standard size for outerwear. It takes strain without reading as heavy as a metal fastener. Tack the edge before sewing and press the seam allowance flat, then your topstitching keeps an even distance. A slow pace helps more here than routine.
What Separating Zip 80 cm White is suitable for
Sweat jackets, because the piece opens completely.
Cardigans, because a fastener replaces a button placket.
Between-season jackets, because they open quickly.
Sewing tips

Frequently asked questions
How do I align both sides?
Lay both halves level and tack before sewing. Let one shift and your jacket stands apart at the hem — with the fastener closed, that shows at once.
Does it work on sweat and jersey?
Yes, with strips of interfacing in the edge. Without reinforcement, knitted cloth stretches as you sew and the fastener pulls your finished jacket crooked.
Which needle do I need?
A universal needle in a suitable size; across several layers a denim needle. Never sew over the teeth themselves — a needle breaks or bends there.
How far should the topstitching sit?
About three to five millimetres beside the teeth. Too close and the slider brushes your seam; too far and the fabric throws a ripple over the tape.
