A clear white with no cream cast. On white or pale fabrics it stays discreet; on dark ones it turns into a design element. 40 cm — that length is measured without the tape running into the seam above and below.
This coil is 3 mm wide — the finest version in the range. It is light, flexible and adds hardly any bulk on thin fabrics. Insert it with a zip foot, so your seam runs close beside the teeth. On bags it pays to sew the fastener in while the pieces still lie flat — afterwards your machine reaches that seam less easily.

Sewing tips
Die angegebene Länge ist die Zahnlänge, nicht die Bandlänge. Für den Schlitz im Schnittmuster zählt die Zahnlänge.
Reißverschlussfuß verwenden und die Naht knappkantig neben den Zähnen führen.
Zu lange Verschlüsse lassen sich kürzen: oben abschneiden, neuen Anschlag mit Handstichen setzen und das Band in die Nahtzugabe einschlagen.
In Taschen den Verschluss vor dem Zusammennähen der Seitennähte einsetzen, solange die Teile noch flach liegen.
Bei dünnen Stoffen ein Stück Vlieseline unterlegen, damit die Kante nicht ausreißt.

Zum Waschen schließen. Offene Zähne verhaken sich in Maschenware und ziehen Fäden.

Can I shorten it?
From the top yes. Cut it to the length you need, fold the tape into your seam allowance and set a new stop with a few hand stitches. From the bottom you cannot — that is where the fixed stop sits.
How do I set it into a bag?
Before closing the side seams, while the pieces still lie flat. Your machine then reaches everywhere and the seam runs straight instead of fighting a curve.
How should I store fasteners?
Flat and closed, ideally sorted by length. Stored folded, the tape keeps that crease, and you see it later along the sewn-in edge.
How far should the topstitching sit?
About three to five millimetres beside the teeth. Too close and the slider brushes your seam; too far and the fabric throws a ripple over the tape.
