Separating Zip 50 cm White
Item no. 15247
€2.60per piece
Unit price €5.20 / m · incl. VAT, plus shipping
A separating zip in white, 50 cm long, Krampe at 5 mm. Sold singly. The stated length is tooth length without the tape. Measure on your finished pattern piece.
A clear white with no cream cast. On white or pale fabrics it stays discreet; on dark ones it turns into a design element. 50 cm — that length is measured without the tape running into the seam above and below.
These teeth are 5 mm wide and made of metal. They are visible, audible and belong on jackets allowed to look workshop-ready. Close the fastener before every wash. The tape then will not distort and the teeth cannot catch in other laundry. Never press directly over the slider.
What Separating Zip 50 cm White is suitable for
Zipped hoodies, because the fastener can run up into the hood.
Waistcoats, because it lies smoothly into the front edge.
Children's jackets, because the piece goes on and off easily.
Sewing tips

Frequently asked questions
Can I shorten it?
From the top yes: cut it, fold the tape into your seam allowance and set a new stop with a few hand stitches. From the bottom you cannot — that is where the box and pin sit.
Which presser foot should I use?
A zip foot. It runs beside the teeth rather than over them, so your seam comes close enough and keeps an even distance.
What about crossing seams?
Open the fastener and push the slider out of the way before your needle arrives. Hit the slider or metal teeth and it breaks.
How do I care for the finished jacket?
Close the fastener before every wash. The tape then will not distort and the teeth cannot catch in other laundry. Never press directly over the slider.
