Separating Zip 50 cm White
Item no. 10840
€2.60per piece
Unit price €5.20 / m · incl. VAT, plus shipping
A separating zip in white, 50 cm long, Spirale at 5 mm. Sold singly. The stated length is tooth length without the tape. Measure on your finished pattern piece.
A clear white with no cream cast. On white or pale fabrics it stays discreet; on dark ones it turns into a design element. 50 cm — that length is measured without the tape running into the seam above and below.
That continuous coil runs 5 mm. Against metal teeth it reads less conspicuous and follows curves more softly. It arrives singly, so you match your quantity exactly. On a jacket it lies openly in view, which makes a close look at the colour worthwhile.
What Separating Zip 50 cm White is suitable for
Children's jackets, because the piece goes on and off easily.
Softshell jackets, because the fastener carries real function there.
Rain jackets, because a separating fastener frees the whole front.
Sewing tips

Frequently asked questions
How do I thread it back together?
Slider all the way down, guide the pin straight into the box and push it in to the stop. Only then pull up. Entered at an angle, the pin jams and the slider jumps off again.
Does it work on sweat and jersey?
Yes, with strips of interfacing in the edge. Without reinforcement, knitted cloth stretches as you sew and the fastener pulls your finished jacket crooked.
Does a separating zip suit bags?
Rarely. A closed-end one serves better there, or your bag opens at the bottom. Separating only pays when two parts really should come apart.
How far should the topstitching sit?
About three to five millimetres beside the teeth. Too close and the slider brushes your seam; too far and the fabric throws a ripple over the tape.
