Separating Zip 65 cm White
Item no. 13807
€2.90per piece
Unit price €4.46 / m · incl. VAT, plus shipping
In white at 65 cm: a separating zip, Spirale with 5 mm width, sold singly. The stated length is tooth length without the tape. Measure on your finished pattern piece.
A clear white with no cream cast. On white or pale fabrics it stays discreet; on dark ones it turns into a design element. 65 cm long — pick your length by the pattern piece rather than the paper pattern, since seam allowances and hem change the measurement.
5 mm of coil width — the standard size for outerwear. It takes strain without reading as heavy as a metal fastener. If the slider sticks later, fabric is usually caught between the teeth — ease it out rather than forcing it. A little candle wax on the teeth gets it running smoothly again.
What Separating Zip 65 cm White is suitable for
Sweat jackets, because the piece opens completely.
Softshell jackets, because the fastener carries real function there.
Between-season jackets, because they open quickly.
Sewing tips

Frequently asked questions
What does separating mean?
At the bottom sits a box with a pin instead of a fixed stop. Pull that pin out and both halves part completely — your piece opens like a jacket and comes right off.
How do I thread it back together?
Slider all the way down, guide the pin straight into the box and push it in to the stop. Only then pull up. Entered at an angle, the pin jams and the slider jumps off again.
What about crossing seams?
Open the fastener and push the slider out of the way before your needle arrives. Hit the slider or metal teeth and it breaks.
The slider sticks — what helps?
Usually fabric is caught between the teeth; ease it out rather than forcing it. If it still runs stiff, a little candle wax on the teeth helps.
