Separating Zip 65 cm Dark Blue
Item no. 13801
€2.90per piece
Unit price €4.46 / m · incl. VAT, plus shipping
In dark blue at 65 cm: a separating zip, Spirale with 5 mm width, sold singly. The stated length is tooth length without the tape. Measure on your finished pattern piece.
A very dark blue that still reads as blue beside black. For denim and maritime pieces it is the established shade. Its length is 65 cm. That is tooth length; the tape above it disappears into your seam allowance.
5 mm of coil width — the standard size for outerwear. It takes strain without reading as heavy as a metal fastener. It arrives singly, so you match your quantity exactly. On a jacket it lies openly in view, which makes a close look at the colour worthwhile.
What Separating Zip 65 cm Dark Blue is suitable for
Zipped hoodies, because the fastener can run up into the hood.
Waistcoats, because it lies smoothly into the front edge.
Covers meant to come off entirely, because both halves separate.
Sewing tips

Frequently asked questions
What does separating mean?
At the bottom sits a box with a pin instead of a fixed stop. Pull that pin out and both halves part completely — your piece opens like a jacket and comes right off.
Which length does a jacket need?
Measure the front edge on your finished pattern piece, hem to neckline, and deduct seam allowances. Err short: too long and it stands proud at the top, too short and your hem gapes.
Do I need a facing?
It makes the edge tidy and covers the tape. On stretch fabrics reinforce it with interfacing, or your front edge ripples along the tape.
Does it work on sweat and jersey?
Yes, with strips of interfacing in the edge. Without reinforcement, knitted cloth stretches as you sew and the fastener pulls your finished jacket crooked.
