Separating Zip 60 cm Dark Blue
Item no. 10824
€2.80per piece
Unit price €4.67 / m · incl. VAT, plus shipping
In dark blue at 60 cm: a separating zip, Spirale with 5 mm width, sold singly. The stated length is tooth length without the tape. Measure on your finished pattern piece.
A very dark blue that still reads as blue beside black. For denim and maritime pieces it is the established shade. At 60 cm of tooth length it fits wherever you need exactly that opening — measured on your finished pattern piece, not on paper.
A 5 mm plastic coil — the version fitted to most jackets. A small fabric tab over the upper end stops the slider scratching a chin. That costs two minutes and makes the finished jacket noticeably more comfortable.
What Separating Zip 60 cm Dark Blue is suitable for
Sweat jackets, because the piece opens completely.
Cardigans, because a fastener replaces a button placket.
Covers meant to come off entirely, because both halves separate.
Sewing tips

Frequently asked questions
Can I shorten it?
From the top yes: cut it, fold the tape into your seam allowance and set a new stop with a few hand stitches. From the bottom you cannot — that is where the box and pin sit.
How exactly must the colour match?
On a jacket the fastener lies open, so close inspection pays off here. If unsure, take the next darker shade — or go for deliberate contrast.
Which needle do I need?
A universal needle in a suitable size; across several layers a denim needle. Never sew over the teeth themselves — a needle breaks or bends there.
How should I store fasteners?
Flat and closed, ideally sorted by length. Stored folded, the tape keeps that crease, and you see it later along the sewn-in edge.
