Separating Zip 60 cm White
Item no. 10829
€2.80per piece
Unit price €4.67 / m · incl. VAT, plus shipping
A 60 cm separating zip in white. Version Spirale, width 5 mm, available singly. The stated length is tooth length without the tape. Measure on your finished pattern piece.
A clear white with no cream cast. On white or pale fabrics it stays discreet; on dark ones it turns into a design element. Its length is 60 cm. That is tooth length; the tape above it disappears into your seam allowance.
A 5 mm plastic coil — the version fitted to most jackets. On sweat and jersey, a strip of interfacing belongs in the front edge. Without reinforcement, knitted cloth stretches as you sew and the fastener pulls your finished jacket crooked.
What Separating Zip 60 cm White is suitable for
Sweat jackets, because the piece opens completely.
Waistcoats, because it lies smoothly into the front edge.
Covers meant to come off entirely, because both halves separate.
Sewing tips

Frequently asked questions
How do I thread it back together?
Slider all the way down, guide the pin straight into the box and push it in to the stop. Only then pull up. Entered at an angle, the pin jams and the slider jumps off again.
The slider sticks — what helps?
Usually fabric is caught between the teeth; ease it out rather than forcing it. If it still runs stiff, a little candle wax on the teeth helps.
Does a separating zip suit bags?
Rarely. A closed-end one serves better there, or your bag opens at the bottom. Separating only pays when two parts really should come apart.
How should I store fasteners?
Flat and closed, ideally sorted by length. Stored folded, the tape keeps that crease, and you see it later along the sewn-in edge.
