Separating Zip 100 cm White
Item no. 17469
€3.60per piece
Unit price €3.60 / m · incl. VAT, plus shipping
A 100 cm separating zip in white. Version Krampe, width 5 mm, available singly. The stated length is tooth length without the tape. Measure on your finished pattern piece.
A clear white with no cream cast. On white or pale fabrics it stays discreet; on dark ones it turns into a design element. It measures 100 cm. Too long, and you shorten it from the top, setting a new stop there.
Instead of a coil, separate 5 mm metal teeth sit along the tape here. That looks more robust and stands up to coarser fabrics. Insert it with a zip foot so your seam runs close beside the teeth. Three to five millimetres is right: closer and the slider brushes it, further and the fabric throws a ripple.
What Separating Zip 100 cm White is suitable for
Sweat jackets, because the piece opens completely.
Between-season jackets, because they open quickly.
Rain jackets, because a separating fastener frees the whole front.
Sewing tips

Frequently asked questions
How do I thread it back together?
Slider all the way down, guide the pin straight into the box and push it in to the stop. Only then pull up. Entered at an angle, the pin jams and the slider jumps off again.
How should I store fasteners?
Flat and closed, ideally sorted by length. Stored folded, the tape keeps that crease, and you see it later along the sewn-in edge.
How far should the topstitching sit?
About three to five millimetres beside the teeth. Too close and the slider brushes your seam; too far and the fabric throws a ripple over the tape.
Can I run it into a hood?
Yes, then the fastener runs up into the collar. Measure to the hood's edge in that case, not only to the neckline, or it comes out too short.
